DISCUSSION WITH CONSUL GENERAL OF JAMAICA

A discussion with Mr. Seth George Ramocan, Consul General of Jamaica

Speaking on Jamaica’s 50th Independence Anniversary

and the state of Canada-Jamaica relations

Canada and Jamaica’s bilateral relationship is close and longstanding. It encompasses hemispheric, international security and defence cooperation and trade and investment links. Canadian Forces have enjoyed a productive 45 year relationship with the Jamaican Defence Force and Canada assisted Jamaica in the construction and development of the Jamaican Military Aviation School. Canada and Jamaica signed a memorandum of understanding in 2012 to establish a Canadian Forces Operational Support Hub in Jamaica and Jamaica has benefitted from Canadian support through the Anti-Crime Capacity Building Program and the Counter Terrorism Capacity Building Program. Join us as Mr. Ramocan speaks and enjoy some traditional Jamaican Doubles, Phulourie and Baiganee at the post event reception.
