Former Canadian Ambassador to Iran
Canada Departs Iran: Folly or Foresight?
Join a conversation with the last Canadian Ambassador to Iran, John Mundy, expelled by Iran in 2007, who will discuss the decision by the Canadian government to close our embassy in Tehran. Foreign Minister John Baird characterized Iran as, “the most significant threat to global security in the world”. But does Iran pose the threat to the world that Min. Baird suggests, and is this the right course of action for Canada or for the situation in the Middle East? The international community remains concerned about the nature of Iran’s nuclear program and non-compliance with International Atomic Energy Agency guidelines. Come engage with Ambassador Mundy in a timely discussion about Canada, Iran and our foreign policy in the region.
