Dear CIC-Toronto Members and Friends,
For those who were not able to attend last week’s Annual General Meeting below are the materials which were provided to those in attendance:
This year promises to be an exciting one. Last week we opened our year with the AGM and a three-person academic panel on the October’s Chinese Communist Party National Congress. We have very quickly put together an event with a keynote address by John Mundy (former Ambassador to Iran who was expelled in 2007) on the decision by Canada to close our embassy in Iran. And have just confirmed that the Honourable Paul Dewar, Foreign Affairs critic, will be speaking on 10 October on what the NDP believe should be Canada’s foreign policy priorities. Again, a flyer will be going out to members and friends shortly.
We look forward to seeing you at an event soon!
President, CIC-Toronto branch
